Speaking @ Bringing The Light
Stephanie Woollard, a young Australian social entrepreneur, was moved by the plight of seven disabled women she met who were working out of a tin shed in Kathmandu. These women were struggling to make a living and enduring harsh discrimination for their disabilities.
In 2006, Stephanie founded the fairtrade organisation, Seven Women to empower marginalized Nepalese women. Since that time, she has gone on to win a number of international awards including a United Nations, Responsible Business Award.
Over 5,000 women have been trained and employed, and have been able to positively impact their communities.
