Ayya Santacārī Bhikkhunī a Buddhist nun in the Theravadan tradition (SE Asia) has learned and practiced meditation for over 26 yrs, 7 of those years in robes.
During that time she has learned and practiced mindfulness and vipassana for over 15 years, tranquility and samatha for over 10 years, and has been taking the open awareness approach combining mindfulness and tranquility for the last 4 or 5 years.
Santacari has participated in retreats in Adelaide, NSW, Myanmar, Thailand, Malaysia and the USA accumulating more than 10,000 hours of retreat time. Meditation teachers include: Patrick Kearney, Sayalay Ariya Nani, Sayadaw U Vivekananda, Shaila Catherine, Ven Dhammajiva Thero and Pa Auk Sayadaw.
Ayya Santacārī is running a Mindfulness School in Adelaide presenting the International Sati Pasala program in Adelaide.
