After Tomorrow is a follow up documentary to the French smash hit Tomorrow (Demain), a film which sparked a global movement of changemakers by showcasing positive solutions to our environmental challenges. This follow up installment now asks: What worked, what didn’t, and what do we do now?

Tomorrow was a global phenomenon, and one of the most impactful environmental films of the decade. The 2015 French documentary from Cyril Dion and French actress Mélanie Laurent screened in 27 countries and has been viewed by millions, including special screenings at the United Nations, Cop 21 and European Parliament.

With the mission to avoid being a ‘doom and gloom’ documentary, Tomorrow showcased concrete examples of solutions to the environmental and social challenges of the twenty-first century. The powerful examples of positive change showcased in the film inspired thousands of new initiatives across the globe.

After Tomorrow is the 3 year follow up to this world-changing film.

The documentary follows filmmaker Cyril Dion as he looks back at the environmental and humanitarian initiatives that his documentary inspired.

This time, he brings along sceptical friend Laure Noualhat. A renowned ecological investigator, Noualhat questions the ability of micro-initiatives to foster real impact in the face of climate change.

Their amusing and confrontational partnership acts as a catalyst for their investigations, pushing both of them to their limits.

As the threat of climate change looms even larger than when the first film was made, After Tomorrow asks: what worked, what failed and what do we need to do now to solve the climate crisis.
