Kate is owner/operator of ViVe, a small market garden in McLaren Vale, SA. She transformed an old vineyard into vegetable production two years ago after receiving the Young Farmers Scholarship from her local Willunga Farmers Market.
The business helps Kate showcase the importance of diversifying agriculture in her region. She is also co-founder of Land to Hand, a not-for-profit aiming to connect the community to food and local producers through workshops and a weekly produce box. Kate derives her off-farm income by teaching the Kitchen Garden program at a local primary school. “I feel so lucky to be able to work in so many ways with my passion for growing local, healthy food for the community”, Kate says.
