Born into a creative, academic family in Adelaide, South Australia Christie has spent her life involved with the arts
Christie has worked for Festivals here and abroad, including the Edmonton Fringe, Edinburgh Fringe, Edinburgh Book Festival, Edinburgh Science Festival, Melbourne Fringe, Womadelaide and more recently as Director of the Adelaide Fringe as it went from a biennial festival to an annual event.
As a creative entrepreneur, Christie is also known for encouraging the owner of the majestic Belgian mirror tent, The Famous Spiegeltent to ship it out of Europe for the first time, co-founding the highly successful Garden of Unearthly Delights in Adelaide in the year 2000.
Christie took up the inaugural position of the Creative Director of the Adelaide College of Arts in 2010, working with Chair, Robyn Archer and a high profile national Board to grow the local and national profile of that prestigious arts education facility.
In February 2014, Christie returned to working with festivals taking the reins of Festivals Adelaide, the alliance of 10 of the best festivals in Australia, that all happen to be in Adelaide. She now works across festivals, government departments and with other peak bodies to raise the profile and stature of 10 highly unique events.
Christie regularly publishes in popular media and occasional papers on the virtues of the arts and cultural sector. And is on the following Boards;
